Caregivers ReFresh Center is a care support service that offers a short break to people caring for those who are disabled, elderly, sick, or for children. Many people take on the responsibility of caring for others and it can be invaluable for them to be able to take a break from time to time. We offer caregivers an opportunity to take time for them. Respite is important because caregivers are at risk of stress and burnout.
At the Center we encourage them to step back from their day-to-day demands and activities for a day to be relieved mentally/emotionally and physically from everyday stress so that they can refocus on the quality care they are to provide. Providing constant care is a demanding job. It’s crucial for caregivers to take a break periodically and this need is a normal part of the life cycle of care. A time of respite or refreshing can help with frustrations, decisions they have to make, or just help keep care-givers morale high.
